Position Description
Title: Communications Contractor
Reports to: Co-Director, Programs
Hours: 15 hours per week, ideally three hours per work day, with flexibility. This is a 1099 contract for three months with an option to extend. The goal is a long-term arrangement.
Hourly rate: $25 to $30, based on experience
Location: Remote

Position Purpose
The Communications Contractor is responsible for:
- With the co-directors and a select set of volunteers, developing a communications strategy including a social media plan
- Executing the strategy and plan
- Working with justice partners to coordinate communications
- Creating and sending a monthly newsletter to our 9000 person database
- This includes our own events and reflections, along with communicating with select partners to feature their events
- Creating and sending a mid-month events email to our database
- In addition to newsletters, promoting events including:
- Creating calendar descriptions and Zoom registrations
- Using Canva to create memes
- Updating WordPress website
- Posting on social media
- Creating a monthly worship resource in Canva from content provided by co-director
- Interacting with a graphic designer when necessary
- Editing videos
- Measuring effectiveness of all communication by analyzing data
Requisite Skills and Experience:
- Ability to thrive in a highly collaborative, team oriented and remote work environment
- Commitment to principles of justice, equity and compassion
- An appreciation for the challenges faced by historically marginalized groups
- Warm and friendly presence
- Excellent written and verbal communication
- Strong time and project management skills; ability to prioritize, organize, deliver and follow-up across multiple competing demands and timelines
- Attention to detail
- Experience working in a communications role as described
- Undergraduate degree a plus
